This was on one of my lists to read, but I ended up watching some of the show first. After about two episodes I decided it was worth it to hold off and read the book. The book is not quite as intense as watching it, but it's still pretty heavy at times. And while exaggerated a bit, I don't believe the irony is lost on anyone that the show is premiering in this particular political climate.

Makeup + beauty products are something that I splurge on every other year or so, but normally I like to keep it drugstore. That being said, it's still a bummer when a product is crap, affordable or not. I've been branching out and trying new products, that are generally "Raved" about in the online beauty community, because while it sucks when products don't work out, it's amazing when you find those high-end comparable gems.

I've wanted to try Colourpop for some time now. It's been a popular product due to it's alleged quality and great price. I know the hot item right now is liquid lipstick, but I saw a lot of mixed reviews for theirs and wanted to buy products I knew I could wear and get a better understanding of first. I bought three Lippie Stix, two in the Matte X formula, and one glossy. I also got one Ultra Glossy lip.

Highlight is one of my favorite steps in my makeup. After I ran out of my last one I'd been using a light pink shimmer from Covergirl that was super old. I'd never bought a "High end" one, so it was a priority. The Shimmering Skin Perfectors by Becca had an overwhelming amount of good reviews, so in the end I decided to try it out. Because of my pale complexion, I went with the shade Moonstone, which is a pale cream/gold color. I thought about going with Pearl, but knew it may be a tad dramatic for my routine.
