These are my first completed pair of pants! They are far from perfect, but completely wearable which is more than I can say about my first project. I tend to get a little too adventurous when taking on new skills, so with this one I followed directions exactly with only the tiniest alterations. In the future I definitley want to be more involved, but walking before running and all that.
The pattern is the Free Range Slacks by Sew House Seven and they come in a wide, straight leg (Pictured) and a tapered leg (Will be doing next). I used a linen based fabric from Joann, for it's affordability and because I had leftover pieces from my first (failed) project. I'm definitely going to aim for more organic textiles in the future, but this was a great starter.
I chose this particular pattern because I wanted something completely different in my wardrobe. I don't gravitate to wide leg pants or white pants, but I ended up loving them so much that I'll be willing to try more pieces outside of my comfort zone. I feel more confident moving forward now and I can't wait to keep adding to my handmade wardrobe.
